New LCD Monitor

by charles.wilkie . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I have a 3 yr old desktop computer (windows XP) with a 10 yr old monitor. I recently purchased a new widescreen HD LCD monitor to replace the old one. While the computer was still on I unplugged the old monitor and plugged in the new LCD. The LCD came on immediately. I then changed the screen resolution and the DPI. The new monitor looked great. The computer then prompted me to restart which I then clicked OK. The computer restarted but the new LCD stayed black and showed no signal. I have tried to restart the computer several times, tried to start it in safe mode, and even hook up the old monitor to see if it worked but I still get no signal to the monitor. The computer turns on but no signal to the monitor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
