New MB won’t boot from HD

by cscrum . Updated 19 years ago

I recently purchased a new MB (ECS945GZT-M) with a Core 2 Duo processor and 1 Gig of RAM. I also bought a new HD. I hooked it all up and it recognized my DVD-RW drive, and the HD. I put in my XP Pro disk and ran the installation. Everything went fine until the reboot phase. It simply won;t boot from the HD. I keep getting the message “insert bootable disk and press any key”. I’ve checked the BIOS and the HD is in the boot sequence. I’ve tride removing the DVD drive and have the HD be the only drive in the computer with the same results. I even tried a second new HD with the same results. I tried an old win2k disk I had as well with the same results. Does anyone know why the computer won’t boot from the HD?
