    New network setup

I have added to network, but have not setup a new network. Well I have but I think I did it wrong. Small office, ran cable, connected switch panel using 568A instead of 568B. The news phones are VoIP. I always had supplies from previous jobs. My patch cable is 568B of course. I ordered a new patch panel because I think I need to redo everything 568B. Is that correct? So far I only wired 12 so it would not be bad to start over. This sucks! What are your thoughts ?

It doesn’t really matter if you use A or B as long as they match on the patch panel and your wall plates (connect A to A and B to B). But if you use A you could run into an issue if you ever have to bypass the wall jack and use a RJ45 end. Most modern switches are going to be auto sensing for A or B anyway. We use B for everything, it just makes things easier.

I rewired the whole network to B. It took about 3 hours, but I feel so much better. Thanks for the help.
