An HP Pavilion 504n was purchased with a CDRW to be used as a Novell 4.2 server. We do have the release service pack 9 for once we get the server up and running we can apply the patches.
We want to be able to back the partition that carries the server up onto the CDRW that is under XP. Having a heck of a time getting the Novell to load correctly even after we have created the DOS partition. The installation drops us out to an error. So we manually start the load but then we get stuck as to the NIC card in the pavilion.
how can you tell us what NIC card/type. think it is on the motherboard but cannot really tell
The machine comes with rewriteable software but since we are backing up a partition and not a drive we need some software to go with this. Is there anyone aware of how to do this with XP and Novell? We (my network person) and I talked about Ghost and Virtual machine. Not convinced these are the best solutions for this customer.
