New Server Suggestions
I’m planning to buy a new server for our lan. Currently we have a Proliant ML370 G3, dual Xeon 2.8, 1.5GB ram, 72GB SCSII. OS is Server 2003 Premium, running SQL, Exchange (50 users), and a huge Visual Basic administrative application.
Please provide suggestions for a new one (Dell preferred), and if I need to buy another OS with client licences. We have 40 computers attached to the lan; Do I need to divide workload between the servers (example SQL in one server, Exchange in the other)?
Is enough with one server, and the other as a backup server?
I have doubts with the terminology: single ranked? dual ranked? primary controller? sata raid? scssi raid?
Please help!
