New system has no signal to the monitor

By keithlca ·
I just put together my first system but the excitement went away quickly as I have no signal to the monitor.

I then removed the XFX graphics card and I was able to boot up. I then went into the BIOS but it hung up when I tried to save the setting.

I tried again to boot up without the XFX graphics card, using the on-board graphics card, and it is not working, again.

My system configuration is as follows:

AMD Athlon X2 3800+ w/ AM2 Socket
ECSK8M890M-M 1.0A Motherboard
2 x 1 GM G.Skill DDR2 800 RAM
Seagate SATA 400GB Hard Drive
Sony DRU-120C DVD Writer
XFX GeForce 7600GS Graphics Card

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated...THANK YOU!!!!!

Memory Sticks

by ZombieBot In reply to New system has no signal ...

It may be a problem with one of your memory sticks. I would first suggest removing your graphics card (I understand from your post that you can use the onboard graphics capability of your motherboard). Then remove one of your memory sticks and try booting your PC. If that fails, swap the memory sticks and try booting your PC again.
Also, check that the power supply you are using in your PC meets the requirements of your motherboard/processor combination.

Good Luck,
Rob

Many problems with AMD setup

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to New system has no signal ...

Come about because of incompatibles between the M'Board and Video Card. Remove your Video Card wipe the BIOS and try again with the on board Video.

Also make sure that you have a good Power Supply as these are the most overlooked item in any computer.
