New to AIX

By cp409sd ·
I installed aix on an old rs/6000. Everything is fine, except I can't seem to find the man pages. I have looked over the four aix cd's I have for them, but I probably missed them. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to install all the man pages,or what packages the man pages are in. Thanks.

As you are talking 4 cds I can tell that you are talking AIX 4.3.3.

The man pages live on the following CDs.
LCD4028805 - Base Documentation 5765-C34
LCD4028904 - Extended Documentation 5765-C34
They should have come with your O/S.

If you want to add the man pages you'll probably need to use the pkgadd command.
Unfortunately I haven't use AIX for a while (I've moved to SUN) but the one that works for me is:
pkgadd -d
From the product directory of the CD that you want to install from.
