new to vmware

current infrastructure has 6 servers all 2003 servers, dl and ml hp range. 3 have lto tape drives for backup.every time we get a new app we add a server.very messy espically for backup and disaster recovery.thinking of moving to a san infrastructure and utilising vmware.

i have never used vmware before.how much of a learning curve is involved here?
