Well, you're in the right spot. Ron Nutter has written an article right here on TechRepublic dalled "Configuring NNTP access on your Exchange 5.5 Server.
It is located in the TechProGuild section under the Windows Client tab.
(You have to join the TechProGuild to read it.)

Or, if you just want to connect to a newsgroup for personal use (not set it up on the server), you can simply set it up in Outlook Express. Then, from Outlook 2K, if you click View/Goto/News, OE will open automatically and you will be able to view and respond to the newsgroup messages. Hope this helps!

Outlook Express is automatically installed with IE. It'd be a good idea to make sure you have at least IE 5.0 - 5.5 is better, but I haven't used 6.0. Then, open Outlook Express - it will ask you if you want it to be the default mail manager for mail - say "NO" - same for News, say "NO again. This ensures that Outlook 2k is still your email/news default. Then, in OE, click Tools/Accounts then click the News tab and ADD your news server here. If the news server requires a logon, you'll want to enter your logon ID and password as well. Once this is set up, you will see the newsgroup listed in OE below the regular email stuff (inbox, etc.). Click on the news server name and then set your options - you will probably want to have it download headers only (to save disk space and download time). You'll also get a popup that will ask you if you want to subscribe to the newsgroups that are available on the news server - then if you say "yes" you'll get a list of the available newsgroupsthat you might want to subscribe to. Good luck!!
