NewSID and Windows XP, Necessary?

Is it really necessary to change the SID of XP computers if you?re connecting only to a domain and not a workgroup? Info from NewSid 4.0 readme file states “Duplicate SIDs aren’t an issue in a Domain-based environment since domain accounts have SID’s based on the Domain SID”. Thanks
