NIC Teaming

By akshitshah ·
I have NIC teaming enabled on HP proliant server. With NIC teaming enabled the server sees only odd IP addresses, it does not see any even IP addresses. If I diable the teaming and use any one card of the card I used for teaming, everything works fine. Any body has seen this and solved. Any help is appriciated.

The servers are Proliant BL20p.

Just experienced the exact same issue on HP Proliant DL360 G4 & G5 servers. They're connected to a Cisco Catalyst 2960G gigabit switch. (No etherchannel is configured.)

The issue was corrected in the Team Properties by changing the Team Settings for Team Type Selection and Transmit Load Balancing Method from Automatic to Switch-assisted Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (SLB) and Destination MAC Address, respectively.

There's definitely more to be understood here for me, particularly in terms of configuring the switch ports for reciprocal teaming--Cisco's etherchannel--which I've not yet done.
