No access to 2nd Hard drive after XP in stall

By emperordd ·
After installing Windows XP I am unable to access my second hard drive. The system sees all the partitions but says access is denied. I previously was running Windows 2000 and installed XP over the existing OS. The drives are identical Western Digital 120 gigs. How can I resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.

It required me to find an old ps2 mouse since in safe mode my usb mouse would not work. then I bent the pins and had to fix those. But at least I got onto the drives. Now I must go through all the files individually I guess and set permissions for each and every one. whoooooowww... Thanks for the pointers...
