No audio sound with music CD's

By rdidcoe ·
I have a Celeron 466 machine with a Sony DVD drive. It has worked fine in the past but has now stopped working with Music CD's... that is, the software boots and shows the time elapsing etc but no sound. The sound does work with windows and with video on computer magazine CD's. I'm bemused by this so any help greatly appreciated. Rob

The other thing you will want to check is if the CD Audio volume has been changed. Double-click on the yellow speaker to see all of the volumes. Make sure that CD Audio isn't turned down or muted.

Good luck!
