There are alot of questions. Was this a reload or a new install? Can you boot into safe mode or to the 98 cd and see your drive? Can you boot to a 95 boot disk and see the partitions? What do you see as the computer boots up, dose the bios see the harddrive and cdrom? You could have a virus or your boot sector could be bad. Can you get to setup as it boots to see if your computer is detecting the drive?

You will need to boot with a Windows 98 bootable Diskette. Upon booting to a DOS prompt Run the FDISK utility and answer yes to the promted question. Enter a 4 to view your partitions. If you see that your partitions were lost, create them again by entering option 1. Restart your computer with the bootable diskette and format the drive, then reinstall windows.

Follow up to answer 2, there may not be an active partition. If you run fdisk it will tell you. If thereisn't then set the main partition as active.
