No boot after power shutdown

After disconnecting from power, system will not boot until keyboard is disconnected. System will then boot and keyboard can be reconnected and everything operates normally. ie. startup and shut down of Win98 operates o/k. Atrend 6220 M/B Celeron 400.
Can you help, JohnP

Hmmm, good question , I would sugest you retrace your steps , have you altered any bios settings or system settings?, added or removed any hardware or software ? if so undo these things 1 at a time until the system operates normaly ,

This problem has been with the system from the beginning everything has been tried without success.

This sounds like a USB keyboard problem.
Is the keyboard USB, or regular?
If it is USB, the BIOS setting for USB keyboard support is not proper.

It is a regular keyboard and have tried different settings.

Maybe a faulty printer cord...one with a short in it or something? Make sure it is good and securely seated on both ends. Just a thought, but ya never know! :)

Since this is a regular keyboard, and you have tried swapping the keyboard etc. , the problem, most likely, is a corrupt keyboard sense routine in the BIOS.
This is easy to check.
Download the latest BIOS code for this Motherboard from Atrend, andfollow the instructions to flash the BIOS.
