Hi,
My neighbor brought me his brand new computer. He has had it one day. A 1GB athlon processor with 256 meg of RAM. It has an ASUS A7V socket A motherboard.
He said he froze up while in windows. When he rebooted, he got an error as it was trying to boot. (The error mentioned his video card.)
He restarted the PC again, and this time got nothing…..no DOS, no anything……just a black screen. (Monitor is fine..tried 3 different ones)
I’ve been unable to find out what it is. It haspower to everything…..PS is good.
The things I checked are: I changed video card, I changed memory, I removed and replaced every card in the pc, I’ve unplugged every device and tried to start it.
It reminds me of a memory problem…..like when you take out your memory and boot your PC……nothing happens. Oh yea, no beeps of any kind either. (I DID get an off-and-on tone when I took out the processor to see what it would do.)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
