I’ve just completed a Windows 95 install plus simple applications (MS Works, paperport, Sidekick 98) for the umptisquath time, on an old AST 486. It’s on a small NT 4 client server network (about 5 machines max) and logs on successfully and can access resources elswhere on the network.
This time, however, in everything but notepad, it won’t allow cutting and pasting, nor can you drag and drop in Explorer, or on the Desktop! Furthermore, it cannot access the the list of domain users in orderto share / give permissions to others to access its printer and drive. It works OK assigning passworded access via share level control, but this is some weird problem which I have not yet found a solution to (even using MS Technet). I have a sneakyfeeling in the back of my mind that it could be memory, but I done’t know why!
Anyone out there know the answer?
