No data sending to printer

Running Win95, lately when trying to print a document a message appears saying “Attempting to send data to the printer and the printer is not responding”.
The printer is plugged in, turned on and connected to computer, and nothing has been altered since it had been working.
After a bit of trouble shooting, another message appeared mentioning Spool 32.
Does this have anything to do with the problem of not printing.
