No default Hardware Profile in Windows XP Pro SP2

by benlhudson . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

I have recently installed Win XP Pro SP2 on a dual boot configuration with Win Vista Home Premium SP1 installed first.

I really need the facility to create different hardware profiles in XP. However, there is no entry for a default hardware profile in the hardware profiles menu therefore I cannot copy it to make new profiles.

I have reformatted the XP partition and reinstalled XP but there is still no default hardware profile.

If anbody has come across this problem and has a solution or if anybody knows of a way to create hardware profiles without copying the missing default profile your help would be greatly appreciated.
