I have installed Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition for the first time. This server hosts the AD and it is also my DC, it is running DNS and DHCP. I have set up dynamic IP addresses for each computer (the DC has a static one). Then I installed Server 2003 on a stand alone machine that I'd like now to connect to the DC thru a switch. When I try to join the stand-alone server to the domain, I keep getting the error message that "No DNS servers configured for local system." (error code 0x0000267c DNS_ERROR_NO_DNS_SERVERS). It also says that I have a missing SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.xxxxxx.local.
When I tried to join the domain from a XP machine, everything was fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thank you...at this point I am clueless on what should I do next.
