No Font Installer in Win Explorer

Hi everyone, i have Admin rights on Win2k 30 desktop Lan. on my own desktop i want to add some new fonts (TTF). used to just copy them into font folder but no they are not seen by (office xp) programs.
Help file says (add new font to your computer) open ‘fonts’ on file menu click ‘install new fonts’ but this option is not there. Help please
