No Logon screen at startup

By patrick.de.bock ·
I'm working with XP Professional sp3, (in a domain with Win2003 server). This morning, at startup, I got no logon screen. The computer first seems to start up normally (Windows XP screen) but when de logon sceen should appear, I only got a blue screen and the mouse pointer, nothing else. When I start up in safe mode, I got a black screen with only safe mode in the 4 corners, also no possibility to logon or to continue. Can somebody help me?

Sounds like the user account is gone.

When you log in under Safe Mode, you're probably logged in as the administrator automatically if the the regular user account is gone. Go to the control panel and user accounts and see what you find. Are all of the regular user accounts gone?

I can not go to the control panel because I only see an empty blue screen (In safe mode: an empty black screen). Only the mouse pointer is visible, for the rest: nothing works, not Ctr-Alt-Del, nothing.
