No Network Neighborhood

I am trying to configure Windows XP Home Ed. to netwok peer-to-peer. File and prin sharing is enable and a the Shared documents folder icon indicates that it is shared. A printer’s icon indicates that it is shared. I have disabled the firewall but whenever I try to view My Network Places, nothing shows. Then when I try to view workgroup computers, the system does nothing or I get a nor responding incation. What is my possible configuration problem?
