I have two questions. When accessing a Windows Server 2003 Standard Ed. SP2 share from one specific computer in our office (which also happens to run Windows Server 2003 SP2), I get the error “No network provider accepted at the given network path. All of our other computers here (Windows XP and 2000) are able to connect w/o any problem.
The problematic computer can connect via the IP address, just not via //servername.
So, the first question: Why is this occurring on only one computer, and what can I do to fix it?
Next: Some people suggested running the command sfc /scannow to fix the problem. Is this on the client or the server? I tried running this on the server, and I get an error that I don’t have the correct CD. I’m not sure why because I have the original Windows 2003 Server Standard SP2 CD, but it won’t cache the DLL files, so I can’t comlete the sfc /scannow process. Any ideas?
