No pictures in IE

By jwagner45 ·
I'm not getting any pictures when using IE. All I get is the boxes with the red X. I can right click on the X and choose "show picture" and get the picture but this is really irritating. The "Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Multi-media/Show pictures" box is checked but pictures still don't automatically appear. Anyone one have any ideas?

The MS article answered my question but the first link looks like it will come in handy too. FYI - The second link(http / came up with a "page cannot be be displayed" error.

Thanks for the help.

I know your problem is related to IE but if you have already checked the multimedia setting, you best check the gif file types setting in Explorer.

Open WINDOWS Explorer and go to Tools>Folder>Options>File Types.
Scroll down to GIF image and select it.
Click Edit.
Make sure that Content Type is image/gif

Good luck

Other file types to check for the same are "jpg/jpeg" "bmp" and "png"
