No power whatsoever…

I’ve got a PII400 that was running fine. I usually leave my computer running 24/7 with shutdowns every now and then. I recently installed Win2K Advanced Server on it and then a few weeks later noticed the system was shutoff.

I hit the power button and nothing happened. After removing the power supply, I noticed there was a transcender broken off inside so I replaced it. Still no power. I then replaced the systemboard but kept my old drives, cards, memory, and CPU. Still no power. I then replaced the tower (I thought it might be the power switch) and all of the IDE cables. Still nothing, so I tried to start it up with only the mouse, keyboard, and video card, and still nothing.

Here’s the wierd thing. I put the processor in myother computer and the system booted fine but it kept stopping at the memory check during POST only recognizing 1024K of memory even when I had cleared the CMOS. When I put the other processor from the machine that was working fine on the new motherboard, I still got no power.

If it isn’t the power supply, IDE cables, motherboard, or expansion cards, what could it be?

Memory? HDD? CPU? …
