no route to subnet address?

By Jake ·
I have plugged in and connected a WYSE terminal. It will not connect correctly saying that " there is no route to the specified subnet address " I need to have this computer up and running ASAP.

A Wyse terminal is not a computer

by Zen37 In reply to no route to subnet addres ...

It's just that, a terminal. It needs a central computer to talk to. It may sound like a stupid question, but i actually know someone who bought a Wyse terminal thinking it was a computer. Do you have a mainframe to which the terminal can connect to?

Second, what type of connection are you using? What protocol?

Dumb terminal needs mainframe. Your terminal cannot get DHCP address.

That's the problem at hand. Are you sure you are a "consultant", because you ought to know better than trying to get dumb terminals to work on modern microcomputer networks.

I'm a level 1 tech and didn't want to take the time registering this morning. Thanks for the comments...issue resolved.
