No show Shogun

By Midnyt ·
I downloaded the demo of Shogun,,liked it, and bought the full game. I have it installed, but when it comes to Play,,the screen goes black,as if to start playing, then it comes back to Windows. My system is more than enough to run the game,as I have800 Mhz,128Mb,15Gb,and with Nvidia Riva TNT2
64Mb graphics. All of which is more than the game needs. I can't even get any sound.

I've tried the game on my other computer, and,
the game runs,,but with no sound. The other computer has,,233Mhz,32Mb,2Gb. I've tried the game on my friends comp, which has,400Mhz,
32Mb,and 4Gb,,and it runs on that,,but with no sound, though he has sound on his computer.

Why does it run on the 'smaller' computers, and not on the big one,,and, where could the sound have gone to?
Any help would be more than appreciated.
Thanks.

For the black screen issue, I would try setting your display colors to 256. Some games will require this setting, but will usually tell you. I'm not familiar with your particular video card, so forgive me if this question sounds ignorant. Is it a3D accelerator card? If not, I'll be that's your answer.

Since the sound problem is consistent across all 3 systems, I would look at IRQ and I/O settings. Sounds like the game uses some default settings for sound cards that aren't cooperating with your hardware. Have you checked the manufacturer's website or the docs that came with the game?

Good luck.

I'm not familiar with who manufactured shogun, however some games require you to adjust the game settings prior to use. Especially the sound setup or they will not run properly, ie blank black screen and nothing else.
The setup is usually added to the windows drop down for that game, if not check the manual for which .bat or .exe file to run.

GOOD LUCK !
