Problem: About 2 days ago, I was playing Call of Duty 2. I finished the game, and was viewing the credits, when all of a sudden, my monitor went blank. I thought, the game was stuck or something, so I tried to press “ALT + TAB” and “CTRL +ALT + DEL” to get back to windows XP. Then I thought the OS was stuck, and I reboot the system. On rebooting, I got the “No Signal” message on the monitor. I tried rebooting several times, and the result was the same.

I opened up the CPU unit (power turned off), pressed on the video card to ascertain that it was tight in the slot, but the effort was in vain.

Does anyone know or can suggest how I could debug the problem…? I am using the LCD monitor through the analog output from the CPU unit. I am planning to test the monitor on a friend’s PC today, in an effort to narrow down the problem.

But in any case, has anyone experienced a similar problem, and if yes, how would I narrow down the problem to identifying what component is causing this problem, due to a loose conncetion or a failure.

Your help and advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.
