No Sound

My sound was working perfectly well until my sun download a music program from where he could record music. After that “NO MORE SOUND FROM THE SPEAKERS” I have tried all of the troubleshooting from the Sound, speech, and Audio Device (windows xp)…. and nothing really is working, at the Device Manager on the sound, video and game controller, When I opened there is not a sound listed, there is a Audio Code, and Legacy Audio Driver, Please can you tell me what else can I try?
