No Sound

By yss ·
My sound was working perfectly well until my sun download a music program from where he could record music. After that "NO MORE SOUND FROM THE SPEAKERS" I have tried all of the troubleshooting from the Sound, speech, and Audio Device (windows xp).... and nothing really is working, at the Device Manager on the sound, video and game controller, When I opened there is not a sound listed, there is a Audio Code, and Legacy Audio Driver, Please can you tell me what else can I try?

Thank you!

YSS

First, I would try removing the program your son downloaded and installed from the Net. Reboot your PC and try your sounds again. Also, check the connections from your speakers to the sound card, make sure the plug was not switched into another output.

If that doesn't work, run System Restore to a date previous to this happening. Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore and follow the wizard to select a date to roll back your system.

Either one of those should work and good luck! :)

Assuming your card, cables and speakers are all okay, I would start by removing the new software. After that, get the disk that came with your soundcard and try to reinstall. If that fails, I'd remove the soundcard completely and have windows re-detect it and then set it up from there.

Good luck...hope this helps.
