All fields are required. Username must be unique. Password must be a minimum of 6 characters and have any 3 of the 4 items: a number (0 through 9), a special character (such as !, $, #, %), an uppercase character (A through Z) or a lowercase (a through z) character (no spaces).
Are you still having this problem? If doing as Soulrider suggested didn’t help, this might sound stupid, but have you checked the volume setting on the laptop? I would make sure that the volume is set as high as possible using the keyboard functions, then check the windows volume setting. Last, check the CD player volume control in the CD player program while running. From your question, it seems as though it worked for you with the older OS that was installed, so reinstalling the drivers wouldbe the first thing I would check, then checking all places where there are volume settings.
