I have a clone computer running windows 98 with a ESS 1868 sound card producing no sound but out of a music CD.
I have replaced this card with a soundblaster (good card) to verify the card and I have the same problem. I have also replaced motherboards, as it’s been a lingering issue, to no avail. Could there be an issue with the hard drive?
