I want to ask if anyone might be able to help me. I have a problem with sound on my computer. at first I was deleting programs to free up space on my C drive, but I accidentally deleted the default sound device.
I tried installing the AC 7 program . that didnt work. instead I got even more problems involving video- so I did a system restore. but that still didnt work.
-I also tried doing a device rollback. but I wans’t able to cuz it said no date was set for that device. etc.
-I tried looking in the control panel. and troubleshooting and nothing.
-I even downloaded a program that said it would fix sound problems for you . but that didnt work either.
-I also checked for sound device downloads on windows website. but I didnt know which one to download so I didnt do anything.
-I checked for Default sound devices for windows all around the web but still nothing!
-there was also that one thing I tried going on “start” and “run” then typing in some sort of system name and clicking on windows sound and then “start or run program” but I was advised not to fiddle with that. so I didnt.
-when I go on the properties for sound devices it says its working properly. but then it says no device found and Location: unknown or 0(0)
nothing for
-playback
-sound recording
-MIDI music playback
My system:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
version 2002
Service pack 2
BTW. I dont have external speakers I have speakers but they’re on the monitor already.
