No sound on Toshiba Satellite

By compserv ·
I can't get any sound on my Toshiba Laptop that is running XP. I was able to get it last night but I upgraded from XP home to XP pro and it won't work any more. The Drivers are all still good and it still says detects the sound card being there.

Check the volume. If that does not work try reinstalling the drivers.

I would check to see if Digital Audio is enabled. If it is I would disable it, reboot and check.

1. Go to Start/Settings and click on Control Panel
2. Click on System, click on the Hardware Tab and then click on Device Manager.
3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM Drives branch.
4. Right-click on the current CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and click Properties.
5. Click on the Properties tab which will display the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Properties page.
6.Select the option Enable Digital CD Audio.

If still not working I would reinstall the driver. the installation of SP1 caused quite a few audio problems for Toshiba. Follow the link to the web site, enter in your model number and download the latest driver. Check BIOS and other updates while your there.

There was a little switch thing that had turned it off.
