I have a Windows XP pc that has just started with this issue. There are no system sounds (Start up, new mail, etc.)and they are grayed out in the properties, also you can get no sounds from the internet. You can however get sound from Media Player…. I have checked all the settings, installed all updates, updated the driver and nothing seems to work. I am just wondering if anyone might be able to help me out. Thanks.
