No WEB page backgrounds in I.E.

By DouglasB ·
I've done the usually, scanned for virus, spyware/adware, deleted temp files etc. There is no "background" to any of the WEB pages in Internet Explorer on any WEB site I visit. I have reset all I.E. settings to "default." Any ideas?

The only thing that immediately comes to mind is to go to advanced options under Internet Options in the multimedia section and verify that Show pictures is checked.

Try checking to see if you have any add-ins as well that could be causing problems. Check for updates on addins and for IE itself.

Upgrade to Firefox.

Well if that is not a good option for you, then look at recently installed software, or updates. Also you mentioned malware scanners, if you are using Spybot then try AdAware, and vice versa. Sometimes one will be behind the other in the malware that it detects.

I agree with the Firefox option you might try it and see if it is having the same problems just for fun. To try and help your problem ... othen than a CSS file loading with IE the only other thing I can think of right now is reinstall IE.

Here is the microsoft article on how to do that.

To see if IE is loading the CSS file go to "Tools", "Internet Options" and under the "General" tab click on "Accessibility" and make sure the "user style sheet" is not checked and also none of the "formatting" options.

Hope this helps
