Nortel SL-100 Call Detail Record acquisition

By mark@summa ·
Hello!
We are trying to determine the best way to access the call detail records via the RS-232 port on an old Nortel SL-100.
Any information at all would be helpful.
Most helpful would be a majic bullet that would allow us to pull the data, then repackage it for import into a database system.

Thanks

Data logger to flat-text file

by oldbaritone In reply to Nortel SL-100 Call Detail ...

You might want to just capture it into a flat-text data file, appending it to the end of the file.

I did something like that years ago with a Meridian DR-5. I just dropped all of the output from the SMDR port into a flat-text file, then imported it into a database using a fixed-column template. Once it was in the DB, it became much easier to manipulate and report using Crystal.

Edit: PM me if you want to talk about it offline
