We have a Northgate PC with an AMD 1.3GHZ processor. I do not know the mainboard manufacturer or the specific model of the AMD, sorry. The machine acts as if it has lost power (screen goes black and then to “Power saving mode” and the light goes from green to amber). The machine still has power (lights are on and the fans are turning). I assume the problem is 1) the power supply, 2) the processor or 3) the mainboard. Any other suggestions? When booting the machine will get as far as the BIOS load to the Windows flash screen but seldom any further. I have turned off all Windows and BIOS power management but that only seems to have made things worse.
