Norton Anti-Virus unattended install

By edrox ·
Hi,

I am building an unattended installation.

However when I use the Nrton setup /s option, it stops when the install is finished, and I still have to reboot.
Obviously I can script this but this doesn't work, since using sleep/wait commands is a nightmare because timing it is hard and when it takes a bit longer I get an error.

The option of start /wait doesn't work either because it will wait untill setup.exe is finished, setup.exe unloads after loading another file which actually runs the installation.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
I couldn't find the correct setting in the setup.iss file.

Thanks in advance,

Norton Anti-Virus unattended install

We are using unattended install where I work. It does a check upon login to see if the machine has Nav, if not it installs, if it does it checks to make sure it has the latest definition files installed. Been several months since I looked at it though... I know when I originally set it up I went through the whole Norton antivirus admin guide. They have everything you need to set this up properly there. Also, you didn't say, NT, Novell, ? makes a difference. I originally set ours up for NAV 4.0 on NT 4.0, then went to Nav 5.0 later. If you need more specifics than the NAV admin guide, let me know, I'll look at our setup Monday when I'm back at the office and reply again Monday night or can email direct..?

HI,

yes, please mail me, my address is edevries@footlocker.com
Novell is not involved with this, I am building a unattended install for an NT Workstation in stores, they only log on to the local workgroup.
I want this to be part of the unattendCD, I'll see or I can find the administrator guide as well, it is probably in there, I just need a switch or parameter for the setup.iss for my feeling.

Thanks in advance,
