Norton antivirus threat found.

By TUNG.PHAN ·
Please help. THANKS

I'm runing small Lan, four window 2000 server, 70 desktop. I'm using Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.0.

1. On Symantec System Center Console, One of my server keep getting message "threat found".

I'd update the virus def's
I'd manual scan and found no virus.
I'd manual clear threat status.

But everytimes I refresh it, or close and re-open Symantec System Center Console, the massage is back again. Any advise on this issue ?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

2. Where can i find some sources or basic knowleges that I can learn and get to know more about this software. Or some common trick and tip how to work with common daily virus problem or keep the network 100% virus protected.

THANK YOU.

well the Symantec Web site has a FAQ self help section and your Symantec AV should have had a manual with it when you bought it.

If you have a threat, Norton should tell you what the threat is and where it is. If its false positive threat you can exclude it. Again refer you to the manual that came with Corporate AV 9.0 or the Symantec site.

1. Check on that server, the quarantine items, the backup items and delete all (after you read about items to see what was the issue)

2. On Symantec site is a technical Q&A forum where is expected that a specialist guy from Symantec will help you (but this king of support it is not very eficient). Generaly the things are not very complex if you read a little (help files and on Symantec site) you can start to configure from the console management all you need.

BTW: virus free/protected depends by the many thinghs, not only by the antivirus software.
