Im trying to backup the computer upstairs using norton ghost 2003. But im doing it a little differently than this one. Instead of creating a seperate partition on that one, im using the partition i created on THIS computer for both computers to store the backup images. Basically i made a shared drive on this computer (father), and am using it for the other computer (mother), as well. Father is being used as a router and runs 24/7. I configured the privelages to allow mother full access to this drive. Theres only two files on the drive so im not worried about security.
I run norton ghost and the first problem i come into is that it requires the network drive to be mapped. So i mapped the network drive and it show sin my computer and i run it and its fine untill it requires network drivers. Im assuming they mean the ethernet card. Apparently it doesnt have the required drivers for this card. The drivers are installed on windows but im guessing it wants drivers for the program, not windows. The card is a 3com 3c920b-emb integrated. They give me a list and the closest one is a 3c920b integrated. After choosing this as the driver it does not work. So i figure i need the actual drivers. Mother actually has two onboard network cards. Yes thats right, as wierd as it seems it does. I has a few people tell me thats not possible but it is. Dont ask me why, it jusr does. Anyway the second network card has no drivers, but its also disabled. So im pretty sure its not looking at that card.
I looked on the cd that came with the mobo for drivers but had no luck. how should i get these drivers or should i just upgrade to a newer version of norton ghost hoping it will have driver support.
