Norton Ghosted drive won’t boot

by gerryleone . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I’ve got two SATA drives in a WinXP machine, and I’m using Norton Ghost 2003 to “clone” (not “image”) my main C: partition to the main partition of the second drive.

I’ve made the main partition of the second drive “active” by using XP’s Administrative Tools.

But when I totally disconnect my main drive and replace it with the cloned drive, and reboot the machine, XP gets as far as the “Welcome” screen and stops dead.

This procedure used to work flawlessly on my W2K machine with EIDE drives.

What am I missing?
