I installed Norton Internet Security 2007 (NIS 2007) all went well 3 week ago, then a week later I installed Norton System works 2007 (NSW 2007). Day one it worked well without a problem. However the next day all went well up until 11pm at night when I closed my PC, I went to shout down my pc and just as my PC was about to shut down with the thank you at the end it was hanging with the blue screen of death. I took note of the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. So I figured the last program I installed was NSW, I uninstalled NSW 2007 and I never got that screen again. With NSW 2007 I also found I lost some programs, I got them back by reinstalling the programs I lost. I wonder if this happened because I installed the older versions of NSW 2007 over the newer version of NIS 2007. Norton made me download there newer versions of NIS 2007 off the net. I could have tried to install first NSW 2007 and then NIS 2007 it might over right the new over the old. I returned NSW 2007 it’s my second time that I tried a system mechanic and that was the last time too! Don’t play around with things in your regedit and most of all don’t let a program take control over it. All Norton program are very powerful programs, what works best for me is NIS 2007 but not NSW 2007, I hope this was a help to you!
