A couple of things, is the a small network? I would do the following. First, creat the user account on the Win2000 system, that you use to logon to the win98 system. Also make sure you have the "client for Microsoft" client selected in network properties. Next, make a share of the C drive on the win2000 system. Now, on small systems, I also install the netbios protocol as well. Also make sure you have the correct subnet address on both systems. After this you should be able to connect the win98 to win2000

Open explorer, and go to network nieghbourhood and make sure you can see the other systems on the network

I had the same problem. Once I enable the guest account on the server it worked. Go to Administrative Tools folder in control panel and then to Computer Management. From there go to the Local Users and Groups. Under Local Users enable the guest account. This should work. If not I am stumped
