Not available for transactions

By wdjacks ·
I was recently hit by a DOS attack that I have almost eliminated at the workstation level. However, at the server level, my domain slips in and out of "Domain not accessable. This server is not configured for transactions", mode - in network neighborhood.. I fixed ACS in QoS for my subnets and rebooted... Event viewer is saying something about no default server found. Any suggestions?

Hi. I just read your email regarding the message " server is not configured for transactions". If you go to Microsoft website and search for that message, the answer is as follow:
"Ask your network administrator if the server is configured properly. The administrator may choose to share the server's IPC$ resource to correct this problem".
It is related to the IPC$ share which is hidden. It happen to me and I had the same message poping -up whenever I try to browse the network neigbourhood or simply map a network share.I got a tip to secure the hidden shares on Win2K at :
www.pcmag.com/print_article/0,1761,a=33308,00.asp.I did what the article said and I restarted my machine. The problem was solved.
