It sounds much more serious than just Bad Video Drivers it actually sounds as if Y2K has been trashed you will just see the Video Driver message as that is the last that is opened before Windows actually opens.

You could try a Rescue or In Place Install by following the directions at

http://tinyurl.com/p86bf

or

http://tinyurl.com/g4bv8

While neither directly address the way to do this on Y2K the same procedures apply to XP so it should work out the same way.

Just one thing to take into account here and that is to make sure that both OS's are on different Partitions or HDD's so you don't get any cross infection between the 2 OS's.

Sounds like chkdsk might have run & found some errors.

Boot into XP & from there access the 2000 partition/HD, now look for a folder called "found.000" in the root directory C if 2000 is installed on C: drive.

If there is a "found.000" folder you'll need to open it & see what's inside, I had chkdsk recently rename & move my system32 folder to the root directory all files completely intact inside. Since I was dual booting all I had to do was rename the folder & move it back to the WINNT directory & the problem was solved.

If it's not a chkdsk issue & you can still access the 2000 partition/HD, check the boot.ini file & make sure 2000 is still listed as a boot item.

If you post the exact error it'll be more helpfull.

do you get as far as the screen that says press spacebar to try last known good configuration? you could try a 'repair' if you have the windows 2000 cd. pretend like you are going to reinstall then it will see your win2k install and offer to repair it. this might hose the mbr for the xp so then you'd have to use the xp recovery console to use fixboot
if you have the hard disk space you could install a second 'rescue' isntallation of win2k in same partition but another folder. then you could use that to repair the bad one. again, it is gonna mess up the boot record for xp i think...
