Not recognizing NIC on boot

by ahroo . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

Our shop uses a network boot disk to start the install of NT on our production machines. The disk and the server are both working as witnessed by building another machine at the same time. The machine in question will boot with this disk but when itcomes time to initialize the NIC, it refuses. The error states that the NIC is either not responding or not present. The NIC works fine in other machines. As well, the machine in question seemed to not like a soundcard that was installed and refusedto boot until the sound card was removed. All cards are going into PCI slots on a daughter board. This is an IBM 300 GL model desktop. Any ideas would be helpful. I have gone over and over basic troubleshooting, removed and reinstalled all cards oneat a time, etc etc. Thank you.
