Not valid Win 32 Application

This error could be related to your printerdriver. I've found something on the internet about this regarding a HP Laserjet 6(p) printer driver. After de-installing de HP drivers for this printer, they didn't have any problem at all.
they've installed the Microsoft driver for the printer instead.

Sounds silly, but please try.

Then reboot your computer.
If there is no uninstall feature for that update, post back and let me know what update it was you grabbed.
We can try to find you the update elsewhere to download to your computer and install when you are able to.
(Always end task on background programs and processes when you are grabbing updates or really installing any program and even uninstalling a program except for systray and explorer.

You can, if this occurred within the past five days try to restore your registry. Boot your pc and at the black beginning screen where you may see your BIOS name, the memory post test, detection of the other drives, etc...Hit F8 on the keyboard or hit and hold the left ctrl key until you see the Windows 98 Startup Menu.
Use the arrows on the keypad and scroll down to command prompt only (I believe it's number 5). Hit Enter on the Keyboard.

As soon as you see a command prompt...May look like this:
C\:>
type exactly:
scanreg /restore (remember the spacebetween the scanreg and the /.
Next you'll see a list of registry cab files (the past five days).
If you recently grabbed this update within the last five days, look for the date you may have installed it on that list. Then choose a date just prior to that one and hit enter or ok.
This will restore that day's registry files before you installed that update.
I'm on XP and don't quite remember, but then you should receive a message saying restored or something similar. Hit enter or ok or exit...your system will reboot and you can check to see if you are still receiving that message.
These are some things you can try.
If you want that update...we can locate it for you other than on the windos update site.
Need name and number of the update.
Good Luck and Post back!
Take Care...

Answer out of order....
This part 1st.
Try going back to the windows update site and clicking on all of your installed updates.
Find the update you recently grabbed and look to the right of it to see if there is an uninstall with it. If there is, uninstall it from there.
Reboot your system and hit ctrl+alt+del on the keyboard and end task on all running programs and processes except systray and explorer. Do these one at a time (sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes after clicking the first end task and a window may open to click end task in that.
Remember...only have systray and explorer showing.
Connect and go back to windows update and see if you can grab the update again, install it, and reboot your system.
Again...if not there and you want that update...post with the name and number of it.
See if things them seem to be ok.

If not...there are more tips up above.
Sorry about this being out of order.
Take Care...

I suspect that either:

Something is damaging the download data.
Try downloading a file on another PC, transfer the file to the problem PC and see if it now runs.

A virus has corrupted your system files.

If you cannot run a download from another PC, run System File Checker (SFC) from the run box on the start menu.
This will usually repair most corrupt system files.
