    notebook problem in booting

    compaq armada e500 have win95 with fat32
    after reading the memory in booting ,its stop at this step without giving
    any message.
    when i booting with win95 starup disk(fat16)
    it normaly boot but cannot recognise the HDD
    because it another FAT.
    and when booting with win98 startup disk(fat32)it take about 30min ,only to appear the starting windows98 without contining
    the booting.
    when i install a new HDD on this notbook it working normally.and when i install the compaq HDD
    on diffrent notebook the problem still.
    Pls I have data on that notebook giveme solution.

      Well is sounds like the problem lies in the Compaq HDD. There are adapters you can get that will allow you use the laptop HDD outside of the laptop. That way you can hook it up to another machine to see if you can get data off of it. The adapter is a 40-pin to laptop converter.
