Synchronizing Outlook is not a problem and easy to set up. From what I understand of your question you want network drives to be available when a laptop user is offline. Win 2000 offers the wonderful new feature of Offline folder synch. It is not soeasy with NT 4.0 but here is what we do. We use the old fashion SUBST command in the autoexec.bat of the laptops to create a “pseudo” drive. Our company is comprised of mainly autocad users who use menus and toolbars from the server. We create the drives on the laptop, copy the information and when they are offline, the laptop acts just like it was on the network. If docs or etc. are copied from the server, and worked on offline, they have to be manually recopied back to the server in NT 4.0. Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but hope it helped some.
